Human Rights Day: Seventy-Five Years on the Adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948-2023)
Egypt was one of the first nations, which signed the Charter of the United Nations. The very first session of the United Nations General Assembly (1946-1947) deliberated what was called, by then, “Draft Declaration on Fundamental Human Rights and Freedoms.” On 10 December 1948, the United Nations General Assembly, through its resolution A/RES/217 A (III), concluded the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Supreme Standing Committee for Human Rights Organizes Two Workshops in Cooperation with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights
Within the framework of the Egyptian State's commitment to implement the “National Strategy for Human Rights 2021-2026”, in which human rights education and capacity-building is one of its main focus areas, the Supreme Standing Committee for Human Rights organized two workshops during the period from 13 to 15 December, in cooperation with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Governing Civil Society Organizations in Egypt" no. 149 of 2019 to extend the deadline for reconciling the status of CSOs for another year starting from the date of expiry of the period contained in Article-2 of the NGO Law January 11, 2022, to expire on January 11, 2023, which coincides with the Egyptian President announcement that the year 2022 is the Egyptian Civil Society Year.
